Come and explore the world of theatre through kid-sized FUN!  We’ll have grand adventures as we explore worlds of mythology, magical kingdoms, under the seas and in the forest; who knows where else we will go together!  Along the way, we’ll learn theatre skills, use our imaginations and work as a team, all while making new friends and experiencing fun discoveries! KIDventures await!!

KIDventures introduces children pre-k through 3rd grade to the wonderful world of dramatic play and the power of live theatre.  We do this through games, exploration, skill-building, teamwork and fun!  We truly hope children will develop a love and appreciation for the arts that will serve them and follow them for the rest of their lives.

CUB EXPLORERS CAMP 1 – Enchanted Forest Fun!

Pre-school experienced children ages 4-5 (Pre-K – K) are invited to join us on a magical adventure through the Enchanted Forest.  We’ll stretch our imaginations as we sing, dance and craft exploring themes such as fairies, trolls, gnomes and elves. Unleash the creative energy in your child and introduce them to the wonderful world of exploring dramatic play! Camp includes a daily allergy-free snack.

CUB EXPLORERS CAMP 2 – Superhero Fun!

Tuesday, July 9 – Thursday, July 11 (9:30 am – 12:00 pm)

Pre-school experienced children ages 4-5 (Pre-K – K) are invited to don their Superhero capes and fly over for some fun adventures exploring the world of all things Super Hero!  It’s time to reveal your superhero alter ego! Campers will let their imagination take center stage as they create their own superhero character including imaginative superpowers, superhero logo and even costumes! Come join the Super Fun! Camp includes a daily allergy-free snack.

JUNIOR EXPLORERS CAMP 1 – Fractured Fairy Tale Fun!

Tuesday, June 25 – Friday, June 28 (9:30 am – 12:00 pm)

Children age 6-9 (grades 1-3) are invited to explore the well-known and familiar fairy tale stories we have all grown to love. But just when you thought you knew them, our campers will throw you for a loop, as they add their own creative spin to their favorite tale! Campers will find a new character in themselves, as they participate in short plays, comic improvs, and humorous mini-scripts. All are sure to live "happily ever after" as they take the rewritten stories from the page to the stage. A magical time will be had by all! This camp will culminate with a short showcase on Friday for family and friends. Camp includes a daily allergy-free snack.

JUNIOR EXPLORERS CAMP 2 – Myths and Legends Fun!

Children age 6-9 (grades 1-3) are invited to unleash their imagination and let the magic of storytelling transport them to places beyond their wildest dreams. Campers will embark on a journey into the enchanting realms of folklore, magic, and ancient tales from around the world. Get ready to make myths, legends, and memories that will last a lifetime! JUNIOR EXPLORERS CAMP 3 – Adventureland Fun!

Tuesday, August 6 – Friday, August 9 (9:30 am – 12:00 pm)

Children age 6-9 (grades 1-3) are invited to use their imagination to travel to Adventureland-the land of fun and games!  Campers will explore many adventures with all kinds of characters that they help to create!  We’ll explore far off lands where we search for buried treasure, hunt for magical artifacts and follow our maps to fun!  This camp will culminate with a short showcase for friends and family on Friday. Camp includes a daily allergy-free snack.

MEET THE CAMP DIRECTOR

Beth Torrey has been an actor, director and teacher in Michigan theatre for over the last 25 years. She began her career as an apprentice at the Purple Rose Theatre Company where she went on to serve as Education Director for 8 years. Beth has also taught and directed for Plymouth Schools, Milan Area Schools, the Purple Rose Theatre Company, Performance Network, Tipping Point Theatre and many others. There is nothing like the gift of bringing the joys of live theatre to young people!

Elise Pannemann is a graduate of the University of Detroit Mercy and has experience both on stage and behind the scenes.

PRODUCTION MANAGER

Tracy L. Spada is one of the original Tipping Point Theatre (TPT) founding members and served as its Resident Stage Manager from its inception through 2020. After a three-year hiatus in Virginia and Washington D.C., she is very proud to step back into her role as TPT’s Resident Stage Manager, and most recently as the playwright of Game. Set. Match!, an Encore Michigan Wilde Award winner for “Best New Script”.  Spada is an Arts Management graduate of Eastern Michigan University and a standing member with the Actors’ Equity Association.
