Jim Cracraft

Board Member

Jim Cracraft is a retired public-school educator and community leader joining the Tipping Point Theater Board in Northville, Michigan. Over a long career in education, Jim served students and families as a teacher, coach, counselor, principal, and superintendent. Jim had a long career in Northville Public Schools before moving on to lead as superintendent for two other Michigan school districts. He currently serves as Executive Director of the Northville Chamber of Commerce.

Jim and his wife, Holly, have lived in downtown Northville for thirty years and raised their three children there; Holly and all three children attended Northville Public Schools. Jim has long been active in community and service organizations, including the Northville Education Foundation, Rotary, Otsego County United Way, Otsego Economic Alliance, and other community initiatives.

A lifelong musician, Jim has performed professionally since age fifteen. He has played with local favorites such as The Shawn Riley Band, Mitch Ryder and the Detroit Wheels, and with several side projects. He also performs occasionally in Northern Michigan with The Remedee. On weekends you’ll often find him promoting Northville businesses and events, walking around town with Milo, the family’s golden retriever, or attending local performances. Jim and Holly enjoy live theater and improv comedy; Jim also loves to fish, hike, bike, and travel.

Jim is excited to return to Northville after stepping away for ten years and to serve on the Tipping Point Board. “Leading the Northville Chamber of Commerce, and having the opportunity to serve on the Tipping Point Board of Directors are both great opportunities to serve and give back to the community Holly and I have called home for the past thirty years.”
