Get ready to set sail! It's every October 9th in any year in Northville, Michigan. The longships are docked and obstructing traffic on Main and Center, the mead is flowing, and everything is Norse holiday perfection. Well... kinda? This hilarious spoof of Viking exploration became a Northville favorite, despite literally no one knowing when it is, or who Leif Erikson was. A new cast takes on various characters with breakneck speed and elaborate horned helmets (historically inaccurate, but they look super cool anyways). Will the big-city shield maiden find love with the small-town guy who has a lot of strong opinions about Scandinavian heritage? Only one thing is for sure — schnapps remains the peppermint of choice, though we are also serving mead. We celebrate Northville, and also, technically, North America.
