Our Story

The Tipping Point is that one dramatic moment when everything can change all at once…

From operating as a “vagabond” theatre company under the umbrella of the Parks and Recreation department, performing in any empty space we could get our hands on and paying actors with smiles and applause – we opened in 2007 with big changes – tipping point changes!

Incorporated as a professional, non-profit 501(c)3 organization in the state of Michigan, Tipping Point Theatre opened its doors as a professional Equity theatre company in our permanent facility in downtown Northville.

Tipping Point Theatre is under the direction of two local women artists, Jamie Warrow and Julia Glander, and led by Board President Nannette Ret.

Join us in fulfilling our mission by continued participation as an audience member, actor, designer, donor and advocate for theatre in Michigan.

Each year, Tipping Point presents over 200 days of live performances, reaching over 22,000 individuals.  We make high-quality theatre accessible, affordable and impactful.

We produce five main-stage shows each year as well as a thriving educational outreach curriculum and multiple special events. Our partnerships with schools and local children’s programs create a sustainable interest and excitement about the arts in young people.

“Very well managed theater and love the productions selected. Thoroughly enjoyable experience each & every time!”
