The Midwest Heads South for Tipping Point’s Latest Comedy
Northville, MI - It's Southern Hospitality vs. Midwestern Kindness when Maddie and Rob, a Michigan couple, move down to Carson, Georgia and meet their new neighbor, Dr. Benjamin "Doc" Boggs. Doc is a passive aggressive man with very traditional ideas on what it means to be a neighbor. He and Rob begin to butt heads as their cultural differences and temperaments are tested daily against each other. Will they be able to put the past behind them and move on to new beginnings? Northern Aggression by Michigan playwright Joseph Zettelmaier runs May 17 to June 24. Tickets are on sale now.
Tipping Point Theatre is once again bringing a high energy performance to their stage and to match that, they’ve brought in some familiar faces. Northern Aggression was first produced as And the Creek Don’t Rise at Williamston Theatre in 2011 with Thomas D. Mahard in the role of Doc Boggs. Seven years later, Mahard is taking the stage as the stubborn neighbor once again. Tipping Point veteran, Patrick Loos, returns having just come off of sold out performances of Ripcord as estranged son, Ben, and director Matt Foss returns having last directed at Tipping Point in 2009 for Every Christmas Story Ever Told (And Then Some!).
“I feel incredibly grateful to have the chance to return to Tipping Point,” said Foss. “I've been a huge admirer of Joe's work for a long time. It's always smart, full of heart and humor and I've found the folks inside the plays talk with their own, individual voices--which is a real gift to work on and speaks to his gifts as a storyteller and empathetic author of imaginary people.”
During the run, Tipping Point will be unveiling their 12 season of productions at a special fundraiser. The event will take place on June 7th at the Inn at St. Johns in Plymouth. The evening will feature performances from the upcoming season, food, drinks, and a silent auction. For more information and tickets, visit TippingPointTheatre.com.
As a non-profit professional theatre, Tipping Point hires over 90 Michigan artists each year, and receives support from patrons, donors, businesses and other organizations. They recently received grant funding from the Michigan Council for Arts & Cultural Affairs and The Shubert Foundation.

Cady Street; Northville, MI 48167. Tickets are $30 - $46. Seniors (62 or older) receive a $2 discount off their ticket.
