Description

Tipping Point Theatre (TPT) is seeking an experienced Director of Development to lead our fundraising efforts.

The Director of Development will create and implement and execute a comprehensive fundraising strategy for the Theatre and will be responsible for meeting the organization’s development goals.

Job Responsibilities

Reporting directly to the Board of Directors and working closely with the Producing Artistic Director and the Marketing Associate, the Director of Development will:

  • Create and implement a comprehensive development plan

  • Lead and manage Tipping Point Theatre’s overall fundraising efforts,

  • Manage TPT’s donor database

  • Serve as a front-line fundraiser, cultivating and soliciting gifts from individual, corporate, and foundation donors

  • Seek out sponsors and advertisers for each play and playbills

  • Manage Tipping Point Theatre’s various fundraising events

  • Research and write grant proposals for corporate and foundation funding

  • Write donor appeals and development marketing materials

  • Attend board and committee meetings and prepare fundraising reports

This is a full-time salaried position based out of Tipping Point Theatre’s office in downtown Northville, MI.  This role requires some work on nights and weekends to attend performances and events as well as meet with donors and prospective donors.  You should expect to spend 25% of your time out of the office meeting with donors and attending networking events.

Qualifications

The successful candidate will have the following qualifications:

  • 5+ years of direct fundraising or sales experience.

  • Experience working with an arts organization preferred, but not required

  • Successful track record of requesting and attracting individual gifts at all levels and demonstrated success in meeting fundraising goals

  • Excellent writing and verbal communications skills

  • Ability to think creatively, passion for our mission, and willingness to work hard

  • Grant-writing and donor database experience preferred

  • Knowledge and experience with SALSA a plus!

Salary: $60,000-$70,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
